Xcode Playground File - Swift code examples
The downloadable Xcode file is at the end of this article. 👇
What is it?
Weather you are learning Swift or reminding yourself of the huge variety of language features, it will be VERY HELPFUL to own as many Swift resources as possible. In fact, if you could write down every single language feature in one file you would own an invaluable asset and learning resource. This article aims to provide such a document.
How Do I Use it?
We created one Xcode playground file and populated it with as many code examples as we could possibly think of; All in one file.
As a group of developers who often attend interviews, we understand the difference between knowledge and bringing information to the forefront of your mind. You see, information fades in the mind. You will never be able to learn every language feature or memorise how a specific evolving framework operates - the memories fade and the behaviour changes with every year that goes by. Instead of attempting to know everything, it is far greater an accomplishment to figure out how to use things that you don't know or have't memorised.
This Xcode playground file is a long scrollable file designed for you to browse in a waiting room, or to execute the morning of your interview.
By reviewing the syntax (words used in code) of a large amount of Swift language features the morning of our interview, you will bring this information to the forefront of your mind. This will (in terms of physics) provide a fresh mental store for your mind to draw from in an interview situation, allowing your brain to have super-fast access to the correct syntax of Swift features. In most cases you may often find yourself correcting and leading the interviewer in the correct approach to writing code in Swift; All because it is freshly stored in the mind!
How Do I Learn Swift?
We provide an online course to teach beginners the Swift language and how to use it (at a basic level). Navigate to 3DaysOfSwift.com/learn-swift to enrol.
How to Pass an Interview?
Having information fresh in your mind is the key. We recommend practicing every day and night including the morning of your interview (which is extremely important) to keep this mixing bowl of Swift knowledge fresh and easily accessible for your brain to quickly provide the correct answers to you when asked and grilled in an interview.
How to Practice Writing Code in Swift?
Easy. Download the Grandaddy of all Swift code examples and write each and every example again in a new playground. Practice makes perfect. So... copy each example. Write it again. Then write it again and again and again. Finally, repeat until bored of the ungodly repetition; Repetition is the key to learning.
DOWNLOAD → The Xcode Playground File
Below is the Xcode playground file. Download it. Read it. Execute it and finally, write each example again in a new Swift Xcode playground file (but only if you want to be the best 😎).
